A Teenager almost get killed by sever lung damage due to TB infection she got from her cat !

Jessica Livings a 19 years old teenager was taken to hospital due to severe lung damage caused by TB infection , doctors thought that she got infected from her cat Onyx which has a TB and this is believed to be the first case in which TB transferred from a cat-to-human , at the hospital doctors had to make a surgery to Jessica in order to fix a severe lung damage which make her feverish, hallucinating and lost a stone and a half in five weeks , and Onyx died from illness.

It's believed that Jessica got infection while she was cleaning her cat open wound caused by badger bite , seven cats in the county also get the same infection by badger attack.

An other victim (10 years old boy ) got infection from his dog , the kid survived  but the dog was put down.

39 people were in contact with TB infected pets were submitted to  screening for TB.

Seven of the nine infected creatures had bite wounds thought to have come during fights with badgers.

Six have been put down or have died and an 18-month-old tabby named Milhouse has vanished.

Jessica is now categorized as being at no risk of passing on TB despite her emergency readmission to the Royal Berkshire Hospital last month.

She is on a nine-month course of antibiotics. She said: ‘I feel much better now, last year was very tough especially because I didn’t know what it was.’
